The 10th Annual Cardiovascular & Medicine Retreat will offer approximately 26 hours of 1-A continuing medical education credit. Majdi Ashchi, DO, FACC, FCCP, FSCAI, Program Director is planning presentations on hypertension, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, nephropathy, congestive heart failure, as well as internal medicine topics. This program was developed by Majdi Ashchi, DO, FACC, FCCP, FSCAI, a leading cardiologist in Jacksonville, FL, who wanted a forum for primary care physicians to learn the latest developments and treatment options for their patients who suffer from cardiovascular disease. Therefore, the lectures are designed for the primary care physician.

Each lecture is 30-45 minutes which gives the speaker enough time to cover the necessary aspects of their topic without overloading the attendees. Participants will learn about the latest updates on the broad scope of Cardiovascular Diseases, including current approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and management. The program will consist of over 30 speakers from Florida and nationally known specialists in the field of cardiology. Individual invitations will be sent to over 2000 osteopathic physicians throughout the state of FL. Over 150 cardiologists, internists, primary care physicians, physician assistants, and registered nurses attended the 2008 Cardiovascular Retreat, and we anticipate more participants this year.
