This four day session is filled with nationally renowned speakers who will address the audience of Primary Care Physicians, Cardiologist, Podiatrists, Vascular specialist, Nurses and other allied health practitioners to present the latest in selected subjects in cardiology and peripheral vascular medicine, endovascular medicine, surgery as well other internal medicine or its subspecialty subjects. The event is endorsed by the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, Memorial Hospital Jacksonville and the American Heart Association. There are 27.5 hours of AOA Category 1-A CME’s that are administrated by both FOMA & Memorial Hospital Jacksonville and has been approved with the American Academy of Family Physicians. All 5 hours of CME required for state relicensure will be offered during this meeting.
The year's program will be bigger and better than last year. We will have family activities and fun available through destination planning and more family practice type lectures (not just cardiovascular), dinner with CME lecture on Thursday for early birds and more. This program is designed with the primary care physician in mind. Majdi Ashchi, DO, FACC, FABVM, FSCAI, Program Chairman, has plans to have a variety of pertinent subjects being presented including the latest on congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease and its treatment, carotid disease, hypertension, mesenteric ischemia, PAD, limb ischemia and salvage, renal artery disease, AICD indications and use, breast cancer, bariatric surgery, DaVinci robotic surgery in both urology and gynecology, antiplatelet therapy in the cardiovascular patients, Erectile dysfunction, nutrition & osteopathic manipulative therapy in the cardiovascular patient, COPD, indications for valve or CAD surgery, interactive educational sessions and many other subjects that are useful for the daily practice of physicians and their staff. Over 250 cardiologists, internists, primary care physicians, surgeons, physician assistants, and registered nurses attended the event last year and we anticipate more participants this year.
