Approved positions: 12
Program Description:
The family practice residency at the North Broward Hospital Distract is designed to build on the internship and to provide a full educational experience to serve the trainee far into the next century. The emphasis is on state-of-the-art medicine, ambulatory care, procedures, the economics of practice, and interaction with managed care. Although the care curriculum is the same for all residents, there is a resident-defined curricular segment which allows each resident to tailor the training to individual wants and needs. There is a full-time faculty and residency-run ambulatory training center in which each resident conducts a practice under direct supervision. Longitudinal care is the hallmark of the program.  As with the internship, education is emphasized over service.
