Professional Bio
James Towry, DO, FAOCD, FAAD, received his undergraduate degree at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, and then attended the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1985. He completed a rotating internship at Metropolitan General Hospital in Pinellas Park, Florida. Following several years as a general practitioner, he entered a Family Medicine residency with the Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation and became board certified by the American Osteopathic College of Family Physicians. Dr. Towry practiced as a Family Practice physician for several more years. He was then accepted into the Dermatology residency program at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO. After completion in 2001, he was certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology and became a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.
Dr. Towry has been practicing dermatology since 2001, returning to his hometown of Ocala, FL in 2009. He is currently the President of FOMA and Vice-President of FOMA District 12. Dr. Towry also serves as a Florida delegate to the AOA House of Delegates.
