Professional Bio
Dr. Newman earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the
University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM) in
Biddeford, Maine, and completed her Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal
Medicine (ONMM) residency at UNECOM. She is board certified by the
American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine in Osteopathic
Manipulative Medicine as well as Pain Medicine.
In addition to her ONMM practice, Dr. Newman held faculty teaching
appointments and administrative and leadership positions at several colleges of
osteopathic medicine, including at the University of New England, Nova
Southeastern University and Sam Houston State University.
Dr. Newman was recognized by the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO)
as the recipient of the 47th Annual Thomas L. Northup Lecturer Award. She is a
past president of the AAO, having served on numerous committees, past vice chair of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s Osteopathic
Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Review Committee, served the AOA on the Council for GME and past Maine Osteopathic Association board member.
