Professional Bio
Jeffrey Nelson, DO, FACOFP, AAHIVS attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences/COMP and completed his residency in family medicine at Advent Health East Orlando. He is a board-certified osteopathic family medicine physician, an HIV specialist, and works at Premise Health’s TeamCare clinics at Universal Orlando Resort as their medical director.
Dr. Nelson is a Past-President of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association District Society 3. He is a Florida representative to the American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates and a Florida representative to the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Congress of Delegates. Currently, he serves as Vice-President of the Florida Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. Additionally, he is an adjunct faculty member at the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Since 2011, Dr. Nelson has been an active volunteer with Shepherd’s Hope, an organization that provides free medical care to uninsured and medically underserved individuals in Central Florida. He also serves as a member of their executive board.
One of Dr. Nelson’s professional interests is international medicine, and he has participated in several short-term medical mission trips over the years. He enjoys spending time with his family, is an avid roller coaster enthusiast, enjoys bike riding, playing the piano and hammered dulcimer, watching sports, and learning about architecture.
