Florida HIE Launches Strategic Partnership with CRISP Shared Services to Advance Health Information

Education, Healthcare, Industry,

The Florida Health Information Exchange (Florida HIE), governed by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), has officially begun its transition to the CRISP Shared Services (CSS) platform, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of health data exchange across the state. This move sunsets the longstanding relationship with PCC/Audacious Inquiry and positions Florida HIE to deliver more scalable, secure, and interoperable services to healthcare providers, payers, and public health agencies.

CRISP Shared Services is a nonprofit organization known for empowering localized healthcare ecosystems through shared infrastructure and innovative technology. CSS currently supports HIEs across 10+ states and has demonstrated its dedication to advancement through offerings like real-time HL7 messaging, Medicaid redetermination notifications, and tools like My Patient Summary and advanced consent management—all designed to improve care coordination and reduce administrative burden.

Florida HIE participants will experience a phased transition through 2026, with no disruption to current services. The new website, flhie.org, provides onboarding resources, FAQs, and weekly office hours to support organizations throughout the migration process. Participants are required to complete the Transition Intake Form (available on the website) and engage with their designated Account Managers to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.

Partnering with CSS offers numerous benefits, including:
- Custom Engineering: Tailored solutions to meet unique population needs.
- Shared Access: Cost-effective access to industry-leading tools.
- National Network Integration: Streamlined participation in TEFCA and eHealth Exchange.

This transition reflects AHCA’s commitment to sustaining and expanding Florida’s HIE infrastructure while maintaining stable costs. Stakeholders are invited to learn more and get involved by visiting flhie.org or contacting info@flhie.org.
